Logo of LV Makes You Wealthy focus on logos as the belief of the luxury products, with their increasing popularities to increase the products’ perceived values. The consumption of the products is to show off the wealth and power.
Logo of LV Makes You Wealthy contains two bracelets of silver locks that one is bought from actual LV and another is an identical replication made by Eason. The content of LV is removed from the bought one but replication is made with the logo. The original one is priced as $287, whereas the replication is priced similarly at $211.
By removing the logo on the originals, the perceived values suddenly decrease, since the products visually become regular non-luxury products. With the comparison, it exposes that such consumption is mostly for logo, because LV is believed to be luxury. Collectively, it questions whether the intention to show off wealth with logo is appropriate in consumption.
The silver lock is 3D printed to be cast and laser engraved. Because of the shrinkage, it is impossible to mold the original LV lock to result as same size. The box and bag are bought to remove the logo.
