What is KHANDAS?
In Buddhism, five aggregates assert five elements that constitute and completely explain a living being’s mental and physical existence.
First element, Matter, is material objects.
Second element, Sensation, includes unpleasant, pleasant and neutral sensations.
Third element, Formation, is the actions.
Fourth element, Perception, is the grasping at the distinguishing features.
Fifth element, Consciousness, is the state or quality of awareness, or, of being aware of an external object or something within oneself.
Consciousness is the represented by the negative space when the piece closes.
What happens when it opens?
In Buddhism, the five elements consist a person and the death means the separation of five elements. Samsara is the term for death and is indicated by the six balls on the cord.
